Choosing the right Cattle Tick product
Generally, strategic control of Cattle Tick in endemic tick areas involves using a long acting product early in Spring. The more first generation ticks you can control as they emerge, the lower the peak of tick population will be during Summer. Our recommendation is to use Vetmec LA Injection or Tickmaster Plus Pour-On in September/October to get the season started strong.
During Summer, treat as required to control Cattle Tick numbers. This may include a combination of short-acting products such as Vetmec Doraguard and dipping.
At the end of the season, in late Autumn, apply another round of a long acting product to mop up the last of the ticks before they go dormant.
