Chemvet Autumn Newsletter 2026
Dear Clients,
Whoosh! The first little batch of our Vetmec Multi Plus B12 Vitamin & Mineral Injection for cattle has literally ‘flown out the door’ to our customers who asked to be placed on the ‘VIP List’. Limited stock remains for phone orders. Then as soon as our next large batch is manufactured and released, the product will go fully live on the website.
All at Chemvet underwent training on the product in January, so if you have any questions about how this product can fit into your cattle program, please give the office a call! A huge thank you again to those who helped us test it and provided such great feedback.

I caught up with Chemvet alumni Ron Palmer in January. He kindly assisted with trial work on his property in the very early stages of Vetmec Multi Plus B12. He was stoked to hear the product is soon to hit the market and expects that this multi-mineral injection with such a high dose of vitamin B12 will be exceptional for cattle health and production!
On a more serious note, we got talking about farm safety. He recently had a fairly serious accident on the farm that, ‘by sheer good fortune’, wasn’t so much worse. Farm safety needs to be uppermost in everyone’s mind, and it really highlighted the importance of making sure someone knows where you are and what you’re doing on the farm, just in case of an accident.
The fires and flooding that occurred across Australia during the first few weeks of the new year are still heavy on our minds, and our thoughts go out to all who have been affected. While staying physically safe is the priority, from my personal experience there is a large mental and emotional toll after these events, so checking in and keeping up with mates who have been affected is also important!
Take care and kind regards,
Murray

Vetmec F – Autumn Liver Fluke
April – May is the time of year to treat with Vetmec F (ivermectin and clorsulon) in order to get the best bang for buck against adult liver fluke.
Early stages of liver fluke are picked up by the cattle when grazing. It then takes approximately 16 weeks (4 months) for the liver fluke to develop into adults. By April/May, all the liver fluke picked up over late spring – summer will have grown into adults.
Vetmec F is effective against adult liver fluke – making April/May the perfect time for a strategic treatment.

Tickmaster Plus – SAVE UP TO $80 A DRUM
Autumn is a great time of year to use Tickmaster Plus Pour-On. The ivermectin in it will kill off any existing ticks on the cattle as well as sterilise the females so they can’t lay any more viable eggs. Then the fluazuron works to kill off any incoming ticks for the next 6-8 weeks. This strategy helps to reduce the number of ticks that go dormant for winter, therefore means fewer ticks to emerge in the spring!

Vetmec Antiparasitic Cattle Injection
Good ‘old’ Vetmec has been on the Chemvet shelves for many years and for a very good reason – it’s a great product! Abamectin is the affordable powerhouse of its chemical group! With an affinity for storage in the fat of the animal, Vetmec Injection for Cattle gives residual protection against a number of worm species for up to a week!
Use Vetmec Injection in conjunction with LEV Pour-On to deliver a cost-effective double active drench! In a strategic drench program, adding levamisole to the drench reduces the risk of resistance developing.

Sheep News – Autumn Newsletter 2026
PRIMER DRENCH WITH LONG ACTING
It’s pretty common knowledge now that when you give your sheep a long acting injection, it’s important to give them a ‘primer’ drench at the same time, and an exit drench at the end of the protection period.
Use Vetmec LV mixed with Vetmec Dual to give a good clean out at the same time as Moxiguard Long Acting Injection.
- Doing so will mean we’re not relying on a single active (moxidectin) to kill existing adult worms in the sheep, and the triple active oral drench will sort them out.
- After the sheep go back to the paddock, they’re going to be picking up immature worms from the pasture, which are slightly easier to kill, and the Moxiguard Long Acting can do the job it’s designed for.
Once administered, Vetmec Moxiguard Long Acting is absorbed into the bloodstream and processed by the liver. As the concentration is quite high, the liver will put some moxidectin back into the bloodstream to work straight away. The rest will be stored in the liver and fat of the animal, ready to be utilised over the course of the protection period.
As an extra defence against resistance, use Vetmec LV and Vetmec Dual again at the end of the Moxiguard protection period to ‘exit’ the long acting drench phase. The timing of the ‘exit drench’ will depend on the species of worm you’re using Moxiguard to protect against.
- Summer: Barber’s Pole and Brown Stomach Worms, this might be 10-12 weeks.
- Winter: Black Scour Worm, the exit drench will probably be required after 7-8 weeks.

TAG PRICES – Hassle Free Ordering with Chemvet
A price list for the fridge this year is below. Order through Chemvet to avoid nasty surprises when you open the tag box.
Update as of 1st April 2026 – Many tag suppliers, including Datamars, are increasing their wholesale prices in light of the rising cost of petroleum based plastic products. This is driven by the increase in oil prices as a result of the conflict in the Middle East and disruptions regular shipping in the Straight of Hormuz. Chemvet is in the process of processing these price increases and deciding how much to absorb.
